Social Media Manager & Content Creator

Kitten Cup Studio is looking for a Social Media Manager for our upcoming game Pekoe. This is a remote work-for-hire contract open to anyone, with a strong preference for Ontario residents.

This position is compensated at $25 CAD/h and the contract is for 8 hours a week. The intent of this position is to grow with the company. There is a two month probation period. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every criteria listed. Folks historically marginalized in the videogame industry and those with diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

As the Social Media Manager you will be working with the team to create content and post about Pekoe. This includes posting on our social channels and interacting with our community. You will be working closely with the Art Director and Marketing Manager to announce characters, promote the game, and interact on behalf of the studio online.

​

In your application, please include an example of a New Years themed tweet in the tone of our social media.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to create content for social media

  • Follow and adapt to trends on social media

  • Regularly post on social media channels including Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook

  • Manage any public questions and messages from the community on our social media channels and community Discord

 

Must Have

  • Experience creating social media content for videogames

  • Excellent written, communication, and editorial skills

  • Adaptability to readily incorporate feedback and critique to meet branding expectations

  • Compassionate and sensitive to working with and stewarding a community; good judgment and moderation skills

  • Respond to questions and messages in a timely manner

 

Nice To Have

  • Content creation skills such as photo and video editing

  • Experiences outside of videogames in media management or similar industry

  • Experience in public speaking and video appearances

  • Familiarity with press relations and PR

  • Ability to write in another language
